Lifestyle Coaching is a profession that is profoundly different from consulting, mentoring, advice, therapy, or counselling.
The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client's personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.
So, how can you know if you need to see a counsellor or a coach? Simply put, coaching helps you set and achieve goals. Counselling, on the other hand, helps you recognise and solve your problems in life. Coaches are trained in helping clients move forward in life and counsellors are also trained in human development, sexuality, family dynamics, and mental health conditions.
You may be offered a single session of lifestyle coaching, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months, or a longer course that lasts for several months or years. Be advised that it may take a number of sessions before you start to see progress, but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your therapist.
